Hope in Action 2010
This year's annual celebration of hope and recovery—Hope in Action 2010—took place on May 19, 2010 and honored Casa's training and evaluation partners, Boston University Center for Addictions Research and Services for their invaluable contributions to the field of addictions treatment through pioneering research, evaluation, program development, and training; and their advocacy for close collaboration between researchers and practitioners to further the implementation of evidence-based treatment in community based programs. We also honored our colleague, Elizabeth Sanchez, Associate Director of Community Health Promotion and Prevention for the Hispanic Office of Planning and Evaluation for her commitment to recovery as a professional in the treatment field, an HIV/AIDS educator and a true friend to Casa and others in the recovery community.
Thanks to our generous sponsors and supporters we were able to raise over $35,000 this year to help us meet the critical needs of homeless individuals and families struggling with substance abuse and mental health disorders.
Hope in Action 2008
This year's annual gala benefit—Hope in Action 2008—took place on October 23, 2008 and honored Casa Esperanza graduate and current Director of Supportive Housing, Eric Lozada, for his dedication and professionalism in serving others struggling with addiction; and long-time Casa Esperanza supporter Charlotte Golar Richie, Senior Advisor, Governor’s Executive Staff for her invaluable contributions as a leading advocate for the development of supportive, affordable housing for homeless individuals and families in recovery.
Thanks to our generous sponsors and supporters we were able to raise over $74,000 this year to help us “keep the Home in Casa” by developing and maintaining affordable housing and treatment services—including job counseling, training and placement—for homeless families in recovery.
