Hope in Action 2008
This year's annual gala benefit—Hope in Action 2008—took place on October 23, 2008 and honored Casa Esperanza graduate and current Director of Supportive Housing, Eric Lozada, for his dedication and professionalism in serving others struggling with addiction; and long-time Casa Esperanza supporter Charlotte Golar Richie, Senior Advisor, Governor’s Executive Staff for her invaluable contributions as a leading advocate for the development of supportive, affordable housing for homeless individuals and families in recovery.
Thanks to our generous sponsors and supporters we were able to raise over $74,000 this year to help us “keep the Home in Casa” by developing and maintaining affordable housing and treatment services—including job counseling, training and placement—for homeless families in recovery.
Hope in Action 2007
Casa Esperanza’s 3rd Annual Gala Benefit took place on October 25, 2007 at the Back Bay Events Center and honored Dr. Hortensia Amaro, Director of Institute on Urban Health Research and Distinguished Professor, Bouve College of Health Sciences at Northeastern University; Kevin W. Fitzgerald, Former State Representative and current Sergeant-at-Arms; and, Dr. Pedro Garrido-Castillo, Director of Family Services, Brookside Community Health Center, Brigham and Women’s Hospital.
Thanks to our generous contributors we were able to raise over $65,000 this year. Each year we hope to continue increasing support for critical family stabilization services, including specialized programming for children of substance abusers and expanded family services, and ultimately reach our goal of raising $100,000 for programming, annually.
