Casa Esperanza hosted its fourth annual benefit event, Hope in Action 2008, on October 23rd at the Back Bay Events Center’s Dorothy Quincy Suite. Over 250 people were in attendance. |
We would like to especially thank Evelyn Friedman, Cabinet Chief of Housing and Director of the Department of Neighborhood Development , for her congratulatory remarks, Keynote speaker, Representative Marie P. St. Fleur, Fifth Suffolk District, Vice Chair, House Committee on Ways and Means and this year’s honorees, Casa Esperanza graduate and current Director of Supportive Housing, Eric Lozada, and long-time Casa Esperanza supporter Charlotte Golar Richie, Senior Advisor, Governor’s Executive Staff. We would also like to thank Susana Ismatul & Eddy Ocasio for their outstanding dance performances.
Thanks to our generous sponsors and supporters we were able to raise over $74,000 this year to help us “keep the Home in Casa.” Each year we hope to continue increasing support for critical substance abuse treatment services, including job counseling, training and placement for homeless families in recovery and ultimately reach our goal of raising $100,000 for programming, annually.
Thank you, again, for your commitment to increasing awareness about the impact of substance abuse on our community and supporting critical treatment services for homeless individuals and families in recovery—our success would not be possiblewithout your invaluable support!
