Casa Esperanza hosted its third annual benefit event, Hope in Action 2007, on October 25th at the Back Bay Events Center’s Dorothy Quincy Suite. Over 250 people were in attendance. |
We would like to especially thank Rita Nieves, Director of the Bureau of Substance Abuse Services, for her congratulatory remarks, Keynote speaker, Jarrett T. Barrios, President, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts Foundation and this year’s honorees, Dr. Hortensia Amaro, Director of the Institute on Urban Health Research and Distinguished Professor, Bouvé College of Health Sciences at Northeastern University, Dr. Pedro Garrido-Castillo, Director of Family Services, Brookside Community Health Center, Brigham and Women’s Hospital, and John Fitzgerald and the entire Fitzgerald Family. We would also like to thank Spanish Dance Theatre and Hacha y Machete for their outstanding dance performances.
Thanks to our generous contributors, we were able to raise over $65,000 Each year we hope to continue increasing support for critical family stabilization services, including specialized programming for children of substance abusers and expanded family services, and ultimately reach our goal of raising $100,000 for programming, annually.
