About the Massachusetts State House
With its instantly recognizable golden dome, the Charles Bulfinch-designed State House is centrally located in downtown Boston on Beacon Street at the top of Park Street. It is situated directly across the street from the Boston Common and is easily reached by public transportation or those navigating the city streets on foot.
Parking/Transit
The State House is accessible via the MBTA Park Street station (Red and Green Lines) Downtown Crossing (Orange, Red and Silver Lines) or Bus Routes 43 and 55.
For those driving, parking at the Boston Common Garage is highly suggested. The entrance to the Boston Common Garage is located on Charles Street, directly across from the Public Gardens. The current posted evening rate for the Common Garage (entering after 4pm) is $11.
Directions to the State House and Great Hall
The Massachusetts State House is located in Beacon Hill on the corner of Beacon & Park Streets.
All visitors should enter through the General Hooker Entrance on Beacon Street (located at the front right side of the building, just to the right of the main gate.) Please note, all visitors must pass through security.
After going through security, go to the left, past the State Bookstore and at the end of the hallway on the left take the elevators up to the second floor. Event staff will be on hand to direct you to Registration, located in the Grand Staircase, after Nurses Hall and the Hall of Flags.
