SUMMARY: The role of the Latinas y Niños Program Director is to oversee and manage all aspects of the Latinas y Niños residential treatment program in compliance with the requirements of the Department of Public Healths Bureau of Substance Abuse Services licensing standards and with specific regard to the unique needs of women in recovery and their children.
The Latinas y Niños Center serves bilingual/bicultural women (Spanish/English) and women who feel most comfortable in a bicultural environment including, pregnant and post-partum women, women with children up to the age of 10, and single women. The program offers women an opportunity to learn about their addiction through a phased approach to treatment that is designed to build independence, strengthen resiliency and prevent relapse.
RESPONSIBILITIES: Supervision and Training of all Program Staff Management of the day-to-day operation of the program Ongoing development of program infrastructure Implementation of evidence-based treatment services including specialized services for pregnant and post-partum women, women with children and single women Management of all required reporting and administrative functions including reports to Casa Esperanza, Inc.s Executive Team, specifically the Deputy Director and Finance Director, Quality Management and Utilization Management reporting, DPH, DCF and other required reporting, biannual licensure applications and other reports and administrative functions as required Cultivate staff growth, development, and team work 24 Hour On Call (rotating) Recruitment of qualified support staff Provide staff supervision weekly Ensure staff understanding and compliance with all DPH, DCF and Agency policies and procedures Complete required performance evaluations (3 month and annual) with input from the Clinical Supervision Manage client occupancy levels to meet agency objectives Oversee ESM data collection and reporting for the Department of Public Health Review medication log on a regular basis Provide appropriate reports to fiscal manager on program activities including client fee and food stamp collection
Represent the program to external agencies, i.e. BSAS, District Courts, Funders, Hospitals, Schools, etc. Collaborate with the Deputy Director to ensure that licensing standards are met Perform regular client file reviews under direction of Clinical Supervisor, including overseeing the regular updating of Treatment Plans as appropriate and required by DPH/DCF Ensure that staff adheres to daily program structure and schedules Facilitate staff and clinical meetings Collaborate with Management Team to develop, coordinate and implement additional recovery oriented treatment, educational and vocational services Participate in Management, Clinical, Fiscal and Property Management team activities as required Ensure required reporting is completed for all contracts and licenses Participate in grant proposal development as required Coordinate client care with other Casa Esperanza, Inc. programs as needed Ensure smooth transition from one phase of treatment to the next, including from one program to the next SKILLS: Strong verbal and written communication skills Ability to work independently Ability manage and lead a team Ability to manage and resolve conflict Ability to use Motivational Counseling/Motivational Interviewing techniques Familiarity with Cognitive Behavioral Therapy Demonstrated capacity to make sound clinical decisions and manage crises Valid Massachusetts Drivers License Computer skills, minimum Microsoft Office Experience with homelessness, mental illness, domestic violence Knowledge of substance abuse field, including the AA/NA 12 Step philosophy Knowledge of appropriate community resources Knowledge of HIV/AIDS service planning and education Crisis management skills EXPERIENCE: Minimum 3 years experience working with substance abuse treatment Minimum 2 years management and supervisory experience required Minimum 2 year experience working in a residential environment, preferably with women and children Familiarity with the AA/NA 12 Step Philosophy preferred EDUCATION/TRAINING: MSW, MS or other equivalent Masters preferred Bachelors Degree or comparable experience required CADAC certified (or reasonable equivalent), or actively pursuing this certification CPR certified
