SUMMARY: The Development Manager will work with the Program Directors, Director of Planning and Compliance, Deputy Director, and the Executive Director as needed, to address key short-term and long-term fundraising needs.
RESPONSIBILITIES: Work with the Director of Planning and Compliance and the Deputy Director in developing both annual and long-term fundraising and sustainability plans Coordinate and implement grant research
Write, edit and oversee preparation of grant proposals for city, state, federal funding, as well as foundations and corporations Develop project timeline and checklist for each proposal Ensure coordinated continuum of care by developing affiliation agreements with appropriate outside service providers including: medical, housing, financial, and other services Produce letters of acknowledgement and work with the Director of Planning and Compliance on outreach correspondence Create a calendar including all events and proposal deadlines Maintain database of corporate, individual and foundation donors and prospects and assisting in development of database Coordinate annual fundraiser and other special events Coordinate the conception, creation and production of marketing and public relations materials such as web design, web content, brochures, mailings, press kits and flyers Create and manage event related data such as attendance records, contributors, invitation lists, and records of acknowledgements Coordinate and implement all communications plans through the timely production and placement of collateral materials, newsletters, media pieces, website, and presentations Produce quarterly agency e-newsletter Attend fundraising professional development events Provide administrative support as needed QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelors degree in Communication, Journalism, Business or similar major. Proven fundraising track record and proven experience in grant writing and major donor development Experience with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Powerpoint and Publisher. Database (Access) experience a plus. Experience with Dreamweaver or other web design software preferred. Experience with layout and design software preferred. Experience conducting web research and internet proficiency required Strong attention to detail Self-starter with a strong work ethic and a sense of humor Ability to work independently Flexibility to handle multiple tasks Strong writing skills Bilingual Spanish/English preferred Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle exposure to sensitive information. Ability to work with a diverse group of people
